Henrietta Egerth and Klaus Pseiner have been the managing directors of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency since its founding in September 2004.

Managing director of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG)

Henrietta Egerth studied commercial science at the University of Linz and then worked for some years in Brussels, including for the EU Commission. On her return to Vienna, she worked for the Federation of Austrian Industry before moving to the Ministry of Economics and Labour in 2000, where she was responsible for business promotion and research and development.

Klaus Pseiner earned his PhD in biology (ecology) at Vienna University. After working for two years as a student assistant at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Klaus Pseiner accepted a position at Dornier GmbH (planning division) in 1984. In 1985, he was project manager for biological usage studies at Österreichische Raumfahrt- und Systemtechnik GmbH and became head of strategic technology planning at ESA/ESTEC in 1989. In 1998, he was appointed managing director of the Austrian Space Agency (ASA), where he was responsible for developing technical and programmatic core competences and for positioning the ASA as a programme agency in the field of high technology.
