Austria’s Path to Enhancing Evidence Informed Policymaking
- 16:30
Permanent Representation of Austria to the EU
Av. de Cortenbergh 30, 1040 Brussels, Belgium
The Austrian Liaison Office in Brussels (FFG) is inviting the R&I community and everyone interested in the topic of Science4Policy to the next IGLO Open event on 5 November 2024.

Science for Policy (S4P) is discussed as one of the future priorities of the European Research Area (ERA). Mission oriented R&I approaches to tackle societal challenges as well as the Covid-19 pandemic have further raised the importance and urgency for improving the S4P ecosystem. Activities, including various forms of scientific advice and dedicated research projects have been introduced and demands for policy-oriented research and policy-friendly communication of research results are being voiced.

In order to create higher policy impact, it is important to share experiences and approaches, to discuss conditions for effective scientific policy advice. The IGLO Open aims to demonstrate the state of play, share experiences with current approaches and identify the need for action to improve the Science4Policy ecosystem in Europe

The event takes place on 5 November 2024 at the Austrian Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels, Av. de Cortenbergh 30, 1040 Brussels. Please note that this event is the precursor to the 2nd annual ERA Symposium in Vienna on 21 November 2024, which is focussing on discussing and implementing the topic within the national context.
