Projekt.Start is an attractive funding instrument for the support of preparatory work for a concrete research project. Both internal preparation costs and external expenses and specialist, project-specific support can be funded.

Fund recipients

Start-ups, small and medium-sized companies (companies with less than 250 employees).

Type of funding / Funding level
non-repayable subsidies; the total project costs of up to € 10,000 can be approved, whereby the external services must not amount to more than half of these costs. The funding level is 60 % and the funding is limited to max. € 6.000.

notice: the personnel costs required to prepare for the project, costs for external third party services at standard market prices and travel costs

Terms and duration of project funding

max. 6 months; simplified completion (after final FFG audit - closing and transfer of the instalment)

Fundable plans include e.g.
Definition of project aims, assessment of the state of the art and literature and patent research regarding the quantitative limitation of the new invention and the benefits of the R&D plan on a national and international basis. Execution of well-founded market and competitor analyses, preparation of the project organization with search or selection of project partners, definition of approaches and assessments of technical risks, preparation of detailed work schedules (project must be described clearly and in a differentiated way, work packages etc.), Preparation of a well-founded cost plan with obtainment of offers.
