OLD EN: Service Innovations Initiative

Service innovations is a tremendous competitive factor. The goal of the service initiative within the FFG is to make awareness for R&D in service industry and for services as added value for the traditional industries. Therefore the funding instrument „General Programmes" is opened for non-technological innovations. Opening research funding to non-technological innovation is crucial for supporting research and development in services and for strengthening service innovations due to the heterogeneity and multidimensional characteristics of the innovations in this area.

Service Innovations within General Programme strengthen the competitiviness of companies based in Austria by funding the development of hybrid products, processes and services. The processing of application is very attractive: not dependent on the research topic, the branch of industry, or the size of the company or project. The funding level is max. 50 % of total eligible projects costs (start-ups up to max. 70 %).

Submission is possible at any time and funding is carried out by non-repayable subsidies (small companies up to max. 45 %, medium sized-companies up to max. 35 % and major companies up to max. 25 %). The evaluation is carried out throughout the General Programme scoreboard and some additonal guidelines for Service Innovations funding.
