The Application Engineering Research group is part of the faculty of Technical Sciences. Its research (and lecturing) focuses on model, language, data and knowledge engineering in the context of information systems design and development. Since 2011 it has concentrated research on information systems for am-bient assistance. The group has access to all necessary equipment required for software development and high-speed data-intensive communication.
The Research Group since long conducts fundamental and application oriented research as well as development in model and language engineering. Members have been partner in several European projects, coordinated national projects and have completed many projects for industrial partners in Austria and Germany. The group has in-depth experiences in interdisciplinary research working together with scientists from computer science, mathematics, linguistics, business administration, psychology and cultural sciences.
