To mark the conclusion of the BMFWF funding initiative Quantum Austria (funded by NextGeneration EU), we invite all researchers, grant recipients, as well as industry representatives and representatives from research administration and politics to a full-day exchange. Experience project presentations, infrastructure demonstrations, and panel discussions on quantum technology and its potential. Network and engage with experts from research, administration, politics, and industry, and help shape Austria’s path to becoming a leading European hotspot for quantum technologies.

Planned Content (Agenda Follows):

• Welcome reception by BMFWF, FFG, FWF and quantA
• Keynotes on milestones achieved in quantum computing, quantum communication and quantum sensing
• Presentation of the quantA cluster
• Insights into newly established quantum-technology R&D infrastructures
• Success stories and demonstrations from FFG and FWF projects
• Use-case examples and industry testimonials
• Quantum Roundtable: Quantum Computing
• Panel discussion with representatives from industry, politics and science
• On-site laboratory tours
• Evening reception with catering and networking

Quantum Austria

Quantum Austria is a funding initiative of the Federal Ministry for Women, Science and Research, financed through the Recovery and Resilience Facility of NextGenerationEU and administered by FFG and FWF, which supported basic research and application-oriented projects in the field of quantum technologies from 2021 to 2026. Its goal was to advance basic scientific inquiry as well as the development of practical applications all the way to market readiness. To this end, research projects and networks were funded and infrastructures were established, providing long-term support for basic research and for the development of quantum solutions in collaboration with industry.

The closing event summarizes the milestones achieved and opens up prospects for the long-term operation of quantum-technology infrastructures and for establishing quantum technology solutions in Austrian research institutions and companies, as well as across Europe. In the spirit of past Quantum Austria networking meetings, the closing forum once again provides an opportunity for exchange between science, industry and policy at one of the world’s leading hubs for quantum research.
