Quantum technologies and photonics are among the key future fields with high scientific and economic innovation potential. They open up new opportunities in areas such as communication, security, sensing, computing power and imaging. The focus is both on exploring the fundamental principles of quantum physics and on transferring these into industrial applications.

We support the development of key technologies such as quantum computing, quantum sensing, quantum communication and photonic systems. The aim is to combine scientific excellence with industrial implementation and to strengthen Austria and Europe in the international competition within these highly dynamic technology fields.
