TEC-Connect: Networking and support for international cooperation

Supporting Austrian technology and innovation

The TEC-Connect initiative aims to promote international cooperation between Austrian companies, universities and research institutions in the field of research, technology and innovation (RTI).

News:

The first TEC Connect Community Meetup took place on November 13th at Vienna's "Haus des Meeres" Sea with a view over Vienna, which companies, research institutions and universities have used for lively exchange and personal networking.

TEC-Connect offers targeted support measures, such as funding and networking opportunities, to facilitate innovation projects and cooperation across national borders. TEC-Connect helps to strengthen Austria's competitiveness on a global level and promote the exchange of expertise between Austrian and international partners. Within TEC-Connect, companies of all sizes as well as research institutions and universities are supported.

Funding programmes and calls for proposals
The heart of the TEC-Connect programme is bilateral transnational tenders that take place several times a year.

The respective focuses are broad and are open to various technology areas, especially those that contribute to the federal government's climate protection priorities: mobility transition, energy transition, circular economy and climate-neutral cities.

Exchange and collaboration
In addition to funding, networking is an essential element. The “TEC-Connect Community Hub” is available as a digital platform for this purpose. This enables Austrian players to create technology profiles, make their know-how internationally visible and specifically search for cooperation partners. The Community Hub is aimed primarily at innovation-oriented companies and research institutions that want to further develop and exploit their technological solutions internationally.

International technology presentation
In order to position Austrian technologies worldwide, TEC-Connect regularly organizes “Austrian Technology Days”. These events take place in important international partner countries and serve to present Austrian innovations. Through these international showcases, Austrian providers have the opportunity to present their technologies to potential customers and partners and to open up new partner countries.

Support and advice
Participants in the TEC-Connect programme can not only receive financial support, but also benefit from advisory services. The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) offers comprehensive support in initiating partnerships, protecting intellectual property and carrying out international research projects.

Collaboration with strong partners
Through TEC-Connect, Austrian players gain access to a global network and the necessary resources to further develop innovative solutions with innovative partner countries.

TEC-Connect is an initiative of the Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure (BMIMI) and implemented by the FFG in collaboration with the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKO). This cooperation ensures that the program specifically contributes to the international positioning of Austrian innovations.
