National funding administration

Below you will find the most important information and documents on national funding administration.

Assessment manuals

The FFG funding programs use harmonized funding instruments. The instruments determine the specific conditions for each type of project (e. g. Individual project, cooperative research project, feasibility study, etc.), including the selection process. Get an overview about these insturments.

There are different models for the FFG selection process. Each procedure must be defined in an assessment manual.
You can find the FFG assessment manuals here.

Funding instruments

We promote research, development and innovation with specific funding goals in different constellations and project types. The FFG funding instruments represent these different funding approaches:

  • Entry : Exploring research and development topics or innovation options and initial project preparation steps
  • FEI project: Specific R&D projects from oriented basic research to market-oriented development projects
  • Market launch: Results from the R&D phase are introduced into the market
  • Structure: Establishing and improving structures and infrastructures for research and innovation
  • People: Promoting young talent, qualifying R&D employees, improving equal opportunities
  • Expenses: Carrying out commissioned R&D services on specific issues

Here you will find an overview of all funding instruments.
