Take Off is Austria’s flagship funding programme for aviation-focused research, technology and innovation – initiated by the Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure (BMIMI). Its mission: to empower Austrian companies in strategic fields, strengthen skills and expertise across industry and academia, and boost the market readiness of next-generation aviation products and services.

By fostering innovation, cross-sector collaboration, and a strong research network, Take Off is driving Austria’s competitiveness on both national and international levels. The ultimate goal? Increased growth in the aviation sector, deeper integration into European and global programmes, and a solid foundation for cutting-edge innovation — leading to secure high-quality jobs across the country.

Take Off Insights 2026 brings this mission to life. The event will showcase recently finished projects supported through the programme. It also serves as a key platform for dialogue, exchange and networking among researchers, innovators and funding recipients.

The event will take place in the ceremonial hall of BMIMI and is open to anyone interested in the future of aviation research and the Take Off programme.
