Concerted RTI efforts are urgently required to find solutions for transnational challenges such as climate change or to create critical masses in research areas that play a subordinate role at the national level.
Both Austria and the European Union recognise the increasing importance of collaborations with third countries. A range of measures and programmes have therefore been put in place to enable and deepen international research and development partnerships – both within and beyond the EU.
