Horizon Europe from 2028

Most important innovations and update on the current state of negotiations

22.06.2026, 13:30 - 15:15
The negotiations for Horizon Europe 2028-2034 are progressing. We provide an update on current developments, expected innovations and potential for Austria as well as the planned "Bridging Actions" call for proposals 2027.

The negotiations on the next EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon Europe (“FP10”, 2028–2034), are continuing. In parallel, discussions are also taking place on the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF). Under the Cypriot Council Presidency, a “partial general approach” — an agreement among Member States on key elements of FP10 — is expected in early summer.

Following a first discussion round held on 15 January, this event will provide an update on the current state of negotiations as well as insights into expected changes and potential opportunities for Austria. The event will conclude with a presentation of the planned 2027 “Bridging Actions” call, which is intended to serve as a bridge between the current and the future Horizon Europe programme. The call is included in the current draft of the Work Programme “Horizontal Activities – amendment – version 3 – 21.05.2026”. Interested participants are welcome to review the draft in advance and bring their questions to the event. Please note: The Work Programme is currently available as a draft. Content, topics and conditions may still change before final publication.
