Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (Informationsfreiheitsgesetz – IFG), every person has the right to access information held by public bodies. The FFG is also subject to the IFG and accepts requests for information.
To enable us to process your request promptly and in compliance with the applicable legal requirements, please observe the following:
Requirements for a valid request for information:
- Form: The request must be submitted in writing and in German.
- Labeling: Please explicitly identify your request as a “Request for Information under the Freedom of Information Act (Informationsfreiheitsgesetz – IFG)”.
- Contents: Please clearly and precisely describe the information requested, including the subject matter and, where applicable, the preferred format in which the information should be provided.
- Identification: Anonymous requests for information are not permitted. Please provide the following information:
- First and Last Name
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
In addition, you must provide credible proof of your identity.
If you require the requested information for the exercise of freedom of expression (for example, as a journalist or representative of a civil society organisation), please indicate this in your request.
