Energy Research - The Initiative

The “Energy Research” research and technology initiative contributes to the provision of secure, sustainable, and affordable energy.

The Federal Ministry of Innovation, Mobility, and Infrastructure (BMIMI) and the Climate and Energy Fund have set a goal of jointly developing a broad range of solutions for the green transition: energy innovations from Austria that serve both the Austrian market and export markets and contribute to climate protection.

Goals

Objective 1: Accelerating innovation and contributing to major societal challenges: climate protection, climate change adaptation, economic development and prosperity, social cohesion, security, and demographic change

Goal 2: Develop key technologies for the energy transition and contribute to Austria’s technological sovereignty and leadership

Goal 3: Involvement and active participation of users

The initiative is open to all companies and stakeholders from university and non-university research institutions, universities of applied sciences, and higher technical colleges based in Austria. Participation by international partners is possible and encouraged. Further information and any restrictions can be found in the respective program guides.
