The current call "Cluster 6 Call 01 - - two-stage " includes the two-stage topics in the areas of biodiversity, circular economy and bioeconomy and combating environmental pollution. All topics for 2026 are described in detail in the entire work program (content, budget, formal criteria, etc.).

What can be funded?

The annual calls for proposals with specified topics are carried out as part of strategic planning and in accordance with their expected impact seven areas (“destinations”) of Cluster 6 bundled.

Destination – Biodiversity and ecosystem services

  • HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-BIODIV-01-two-stage: Living labs for co-creating solutions for the restoration of ecosystems – RIA - Budget: 14.00 million for two projects
  • HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-BIODIV-02-two-stage: Open topic: Uncovering the causes of specific species’ rapid decline and exploring actionable solutions – RIA - Budget: 12.00 million for four projects
  • HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-BIODIV-03-two-stage: Unlocking the potential of citizen action for nature protection and restoration – IA - Budget: 10.00 million for two projects
  • HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-BIODIV-04-two-stage: Mainstreaming and scaling-up evidence-based Nature-Based Solutions towards a nature positive and climate-resilient economy – RIA - Budget: 18.00 million for three projects

Destination – Circular economy and bioeconomy sectors

  • HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-CIRCBIO-01-two-stage Deploying circular systemic solutions through living labs in cities and regions (Circular Cities and Regions Initiative topic) – IA - Budget: 10.00 million for two projects
  • HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-CIRCBIO-02-two-stage Open topic: Using the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative to strengthen urban manufacturing in support of the Clean Industrial Deal – IA - Budget: 18.00 million for three projects

Destination – Clean environment and zero pollution

  • HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-ZEROPOLLUTION-01-two-stage: Decontaminate    and bioremediate aquatic pollution – RIA - Budget: 23.00 million for three projects

     

Who can be funded?

European consortia consisting of several (usually at least 3) organizations from 3 countries are funded, see European Commission tender documents .

What is the amount of funding?

The individual project funding depends on the topic. A budget of approximately 105 million euros is available for this tender. Use some call topics “Lump Sum” funding

What are the submission criteria?

The submission criteria are in the European Commission tender documents described.

How does the submission work?

The project application is submitted electronically via the Funding and Tenders Portal of the European Commission .

When will a decision be made?

The results of the evaluation are expected in early 2027.
