Call for proposals HORIZON-MISS-2026-02-CANCER

The call 2026 for proposals for the 'Supporting the implementation of the Cancer Mission' includes single-stage topics. These topics are described in detail in the Work Programme for the EU Missions, including information on content, budget and formal criteria.

The annual calls for proposals with specified topics are based on the Mission Cancer Implementation Plan. The priorities are structured according to the four specific objectives of the Mission Cancer:

  1. Understanding of cancer
  2. Prevention and early detection
  3. Diagnosis and treatment
  4. Quality of life for patients and & their families

Call: Supporting the implementation of the Cancer Mission

  • HORIZON-MISS-2026-02-CANCER-01: Virtual Human Twin (VHT) Models for Cancer Research
  • HORIZON-MISS-2026-02-CANCER-02: Microbiome for early cancer prediction before the onset of disease
  • HORIZON-MISS-2026-02-CANCER-03: Pragmatic clinical trials to optimize immunotherapeutic interventions for patients with refractory cancers
  • HORIZON-MISS-2026-02-CANCER-04: Earlier and more precise palliative care
  • HORIZON-MISS-2026-02-CANCER-05: Boosting mental health for young cancer survivors through the European Cancer Patient Digital Centre (ECPDC)
  • HORIZON-MISS-2026-02-CANCER-06: Development of a research capacity building programme on cancer with and for Ukraine
  • HORIZON-MISS-2026-02-CANCER-07: Improve the quality of life for older cancer patients
     

Who can be funded?

Funding is available for European consortia consisting of several (usually at least three) organisations from three countries; please refer to the European Commission's call for proposals documents.

 

 

 

What is the amount of funding?

Individual project funding depends on the topic. A budget of 33 million Euro is available for this call for proposals. Some call topics use lump sum funding.

What are the submission criteria?

The submission criteria are described in the European Commission's tender documents.

How does the submission work?

Project applications must be submitted electronically via the European Commission's Funding & Tenders Portal.

When will a decision be made?

The results of the evaluation are expected by beginning of 2027 at the latest.
