The ERC Starting Grants supports talented early-career scientists (extended eligibility window as of ERC Work programme 2027: maximum 10 years post-PhD defence) in establishing their scientific independence, often by heading their own research team for the first time.
The ERC Consolidator Grants addresses excellent early-career scientists (new eligibility window as of ERC Work programme 2027: minimum 5, maximum 15 years post PhD defence) seeking to consolidate their independent research agenda and team.
The two online sessions (one with focus on the ERC scientific domains Physical Sciences and Engineering and Life Sciences; and a second one with focus on Social Sciences and Humanities) provide a forum to discuss with ERC evaluators (panel members and remote evaluators) and grantees questions and challenges in preparing a competitive proposal, some of which may be more specific to certain fields of research. Particular attention will be given to the evaluation process and what it means for the different parts of the proposal.
The following ERC panel members have kindly agreed to share their experiences and recommendations and answer questions by participants during these sessions:
Please feel free to participate in one or both sessions. All sessions last from 3 pm to 4:30 pm CET.
Kindly note that the number of participants is limited and that priority will be given to researchers planning to submit an ERC Starting or Consolidator Grant proposal at an Austrian institution to the 2027 Calls or within the next few years.
