Zero-Emission Mobility

Research Programme of the Climate and Energy Fund on Zero Emission Mobility in Road Transport

Zero Emission Mobility is a research and demonstration programme of the Climate and Energy Fund in the field of sustainable mobility and energy supply. It aims to initiate visible projects that implement ambitious approaches and innovative developments. In addition, the programme seeks to make e-mobility attractive to the general public through the promotion and development of infrastructure. Research focusing on vehicles, infrastructure, and users is therefore at the heart of the programme.

Programme Focus

The programme is clearly focused on zero-emission mobility in road transport. The emphasis is on market-oriented, consortium-based research projects that include a demonstration component and have clear prospects for implementation. The calls for proposals are mission-oriented and technology-neutral.

Goals

The “Zero Emission Mobility” programme aims to develop solutions for an affordable, environmentally friendly, and efficient mobility system. The goal is to contribute to the objectives outlined in #mission2030, such as reducing transportation emissions by 15.7 million metric tons of CO2 by 2030, as well as establishing fossil-free mobility by 2050. To achieve sustainable development, framework conditions must be established that will enable a mobility transition toward a decarbonised and, at the same time, service-oriented transportation system. The focus of the programme is on the commercialisation potential of the technologies developed.
