INDTECH2018: Vienna to become hotspot for industrial innovations in October

Within the scope of the Austrian EU Presidency, the largest conference in the field of industrial technologies will be held in Vienna on 29 - 31 October

Following his mission of "flying around the world to promote clean energy" the well-known pioneer Bertrand Piccard, will stopover at INDTECH 2018. Within the scope of the EU Presidency, the European Commission, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (bmvit) and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) are inviting participants to the international conference on industrial technologies in Vienna on 29 – 31 October 2018. "Hosting a top-class conference like INDTECH 2018 in Vienna is an internationally relevant signal for promoting research, innovation and the economy. Supporting this collaboration among EU research stakeholders can spur the growth of Europe as an attractive business environment", says Austrian Federal Minister for Transport, Innovation and Technology Norbert Hofer.

Around 1,000 participants from more than 30 countries are expected.

 

Interaction and active participation for Europe's future

INDTECH2018 will present newest insights and applications reflecting the state of the art. In addition to interactive formats such as "Fish Bowls" and "World Café", a "Matchmaking"- event and on-site company visits will take place. Technologies for sustainable growth, innovative industries and ecosystems and framework conditions are among the discussion topics of the parallel sessions.

 

 

Key Enabling Technologies for Europe's society and economy

INDTECH2018 will be opened by Jean-Eric Paquet, Director-General of the European Commission's DG Research and Innovation, Secretary General Andreas Reichhardt (bmvit) and Managing Director of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), Klaus Pseiner.

Nanotechnologies, advanced materials and manufacturing and biotechnology will take centre stage. These are among the key enabling technologies that can boost jobs and growth in Europe. Panelists from industry, academia and the European Commission will discuss how the transformation of Europe's industry will lead to inclusive and sustainable growth and will address challenges and opportunities for European society.
