Rail4Climate – 2026 Call for Proposals

A call for proposals from the Austrian Federal Government's Climate and Energy Fund

The capacity and efficiency of the rail system must be further enhanced through digitalization and automation, with the cooperation of all stakeholders in the rail sector.
To ensure competitiveness and enhance the resilience and efficiency of the mobility system, it is essential to continuously improve existing framework conditions by leveraging the opportunities offered by digitalization and to expand the underlying infrastructure. To secure Austria’s leading role in the field of mobility data management for the future, raise the visibility of Austrian data offerings, and achieve cross-sectoral impacts, the program—through the planned call for proposals—is implementing measures to further expand Austria’s mobility data infrastructure.

A total of 2 million EUR is expected to be available under the “Rail4Climate 2026” program.
