Endowed professorships at Austrian universities

The Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure (BMIMI) supports important areas of knowledge for Austria as a location for innovation and contributes to the in-depth development of cooperation between science and industry with the funding program "endowed professorship". Endowed professorships are intended to bring outstanding researchers to Austria. The funding period is limited to 5 years and covers the development and establishment of new topics in the Austrian research landscape. The call is aimed exclusively at Austrian universities in accordance with § 6 UG 2002.

Targets addressed:

  • Development and expansion of research competence and capacity in strategically important research fields
  • Strengthening human capital
  • Expansion and deepening of cooperative relationships between science and business
