DACH Transportation Infrastructure Research

Applied research through cross-border cooperation between Germany, Austria, and Switzerland

DACH stands for a collaboration within the common linguistic and economic area comprising Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The goal of this initiative is to address research questions related to transportation infrastructure that involve comparable circumstances and conditions in all three countries, with the aim of promoting national and regional innovation processes.
  • Developing research questions to specifically address regional and national research and innovation needs, particularly for issues that can be resolved only to a limited extent at the national level
  • Pooling resources to best address common research questions by jointly issuing calls for proposals for research projects that are highly complex and resource-intensive
  • Promoting knowledge exchange, networking among regional research stakeholders, and application-oriented research results
The calls for proposals are open to legally registered organisations in Europe. In principle, legal entities, partnerships, and sole proprietorships may participate in the call for proposals.
The call for proposals is primarily aimed at companies (ranging from industrial firms and large enterprises to SMEs) and research institutions.
Proposals for R&D services may be submitted by individual bidders or by consortia of bidders.
