The aim of the topic Apply AI: Piloting AI-based image screening in medical centers is to test cloud-based AI/GenAI systems to support healthcare facilities in analysing medical image data. It is planned to fund two projects. These are intended to support the implementation of scalable, cloud-based AI/GenAI systems, which are based on European, trustworthy and secure AI/GenAI algorithms. They have been developed, trained and validated by using very large patient data sets.
EC funding budget: 9 million euros, 2 projects | EC funding rate: 50% (Simple Grant)
The topic Digital solutions for regulatory compliance through data supports projects that pilot digital solutions for the automated and secure compliance with EU requirements by making the regulatory reporting process more efficient and privacy-friendly across a range of use cases.
EC funding budget: 8.5 million euros, 3-4 projects | EC funding rate : 50% (Lump Sum Grant)
For both topics, it is possible to apply for national co-funding. To be eligible, the fully completed and officially signed “Expression of Interest” (EoI) must be submitted by email to [email protected] and [email protected] by September 21, 2026, at the latest.
Please note that national co-funding is available for co-funding amounts of at least 100,000 euros per organisation.
Please note: Starting with this call for proposals, in addition to individual submissions, you have the option to submit your EC project as a national consortium together with other Austrian project partners. In this case, the required minimum amount for co-funding increases proportionally to the number of partners (e.g., for a consortium of 3 project partners, the minimum amount is 300,000 euros) and is considered as a whole for the national consortium. A separate, officially signed EoI must be submitted by each partner until the deadline. Detailed information can be found in the EoI template.
The evaluation of the submitted EoIs will take place after the above-mentioned deadline has passed. In the event of a positive evaluation and available funding, you will receive feedback in the form of a “Letter of Intent” before the European Commission’s submission deadline. We are happy to answer any questions you may have in advance.
