The Eco-Cheque enables small and medium-sized enterprises and non-profit organisations to pursue or establish climate-neutral and sustainable business practices.
The Eco-Cheque has the following objectives:
- To contribute to CO2 reduction, security of supply with renewable energies and measures for adaptation to climate change, etc.
- To provide an incentive for small and medium-sized enterprises and non-profit organisations to pursue or establish climate-friendly and environmentally friendly business practices.
- To strengthen existing innovation activities and create incentives for new innovations.
With the Eco-Cheque, you can work on the following topics, for example:
- Develop innovative products and services that contribute to solving ecological problems, e.g. products made from renewable materials or products that are designed to be completely recyclable.
- Develop sustainable business models, e.g. sharing economy, digital platforms for resale, product repair services
- Designing products sustainably, e.g. ecological product design for a long service life or improved reparability and recyclability
- Reducing energy consumption, e.g. optimising machine utilisation, purchasing or generating renewable energy/heat, using waste heat, switching to energy-saving products or technologies, reviewing building envelopes or shading options
- Make material use more efficient or reduce consumption, e.g. by using recycled or secondary materials
- Manage wastewater and waste in production, e.g. by observing the following sequence of measures: avoidance, reuse, recycling, other recovery, disposal
- Organise procurement more sustainably, e.g. by purchasing ecological or regional products and services, evaluating suppliers/products according to ecological criteria
- Make transport and mobility more environmentally friendly, e.g. by bundling transport
- Reduce emissions
After project completion, the organisation is in possession of a concept or has started implementation steps towards a climate-neutral and sustainable business model.
