Am 25. November 2013 hat das Flagship "Graphene" im Bereich „Future and emerging Technologies“ (FET) eine Ausschreibung („Competitive Call“) veröffentlicht, mit der ab 2014 ca. 20-30 neue Partner in das bestehende Konsortium aufgenommen werden und spezifische Aufgaben im Projekt übernehmen können. Das Graphene Projekt strebt vor allem eine Stärkung des „Engineering“-Aspekts im FET-Flagship an. Die aktuelle Ausschreibung umfasst 12 Forschungsfelder und ein "Unterstützungsthema".
Für diese Ausschreibung sind nur Organisationen zugelassen, die noch nicht Teil des Graphene-Konsortiums sind.

- Membrane technologies: from nanofluidics to nanoresonators
- Catalysts for energy applications
- Functionalized materials for composites and energy applications

- Integration of graphene and related materials (GRMs) with semiconductor devices: a scalable back-end approach
- New layered materials and heterostructures
- Passive components for RF-applications
- Integration with Si photonics
- Prototypes based on graphene, related two-dimensional crystals, and hybrid systems
- Open topic, dedicated to bottom-up blue sky research
- Updating the Science and Technology roadmap for graphene, related two-dimensional crystals, and hybrid systems
