This Call of the RTI Initiative ‘ICT of the Future’ will focus on the bilateral collaboration between Austria and China with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, CAS, in application-oriented research. The strategic aim of ‘strengthening European and international collaborations and networks’ will be addressed in particular.
Aufgrund der aktuellen Umstände wird der Einreichschluss der Ausschreibung "ICT of the Future, 6th Call for Cooperative R&D Projects between Austria, FFG and China, CAS" bis 13.05.2020 / 11:00 Uhr verlängert. Das Einreichen der Projektbeschreibung in der bisherigen Vorlage wird auch akzeptiert.

FFG is prepared to provide selected Cooperative R&D Projects with financial support for a maximum of 3 years. The total call budget for the Austrian project partners is EUR 1 million (equivalent to around CNY 7,8 million). The funding amount for Austrian partners in a joint project must be between EUR 100.000 and EUR 1.000.000. The budget provided by FFG can only be used to cover costs related to the project parts carried out by the Austrian project partners. The funding regulations for Austrian project partners are laid down in the respective call documents.

- Deadline for submission at FFG via eCall and at CAS Chinese Academy of Sciences:
- FFG eCall: 13 May 2020, 11:00 at Central European Summer Time (C.E.S.T.)
- CAS: 13 May 2020, 17:00 at China Standard Time (C.S.T.)
The Cooperative R&D Projects must address at least one of the following topics:
- Mastering complex ICT solutions: Systems of Systems
- Conquering data: Intelligent Systems
- Ensuring interoperability: Interfaces of systems

- Develop lead technologies
Increase both the quantity and the quality of ICT-research and development that can achieve and sustain technological leadership
Enable the exploration of new ICT research topics and application areas - Achieve lead positions in competitive markets
Strengthen the capability of firms to innovate, support firms in establishing and extending their competitive position
Establish and extend a lead position as a location for research - Secure and improve Austria’s visibility, interconnectedness and attractiveness in the international context in the area of ICT research and development
- Train and attract lead researchers
Improve the availability of a sufficient number of trained researchers as the backbone of excellent ICT-research and development
