The direct path to patent registration

The Patent.Voucher strengthens the IP expertise of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups.

What is the Patent.Voucher about?

Patent.Voucher improves cooperation with patent offices. The funding program provides access to IP expertise, in particular for the early analysis of a "freedom to operate", for efficient patent applications an for accompanying support of your internationalisation activities.

Patent.Voucher key data

  • Funding is open to all topics and technologies
  • Submission at any time with fast approval process
  • Evaluations are conducted by experts of a patent office
  • Costs max. 12,500 EUR (only third-party costs are eligible for funding: dialogue research, patent application, monitoring)
  • Grant up to max. 10,000 EUR (funding intensity is therefore 80 %)
  • 1 Patent.Voucher per year and company (duration 24 months)
  • Phase 1 (obligation): You have one year to interactively clarify patentability with a national patent office in Europe.
  • Phase 2 (option): If patentability is recommended by the patent office, Patent.Scheck will provide additional support for patent application and patent monitoring (optional phase 2).
  • Installment payments are made after phases 1 and 2 (interim installment of max. 80% of phase 1 costs and final installment of max. 80% of phase 2 costs).
