This high-level event brings together key stakeholders from industry, research, and politics to highlight Austria’s role in the European manufacturing sector. The focus will be on strategic exchange, showcasing innovative projects, and discussing the future of manufacturing in Europe.

Austria boasts outstanding competencies in manufacturing – from innovative SMEs to globally operating industrial companies and excellent research. In line with the strategic considerations of the EU (e.g., Draghi and Letta reports, EU Compass for Competitiveness), we will discuss how these strengths can be strategically deployed to secure and enhance Europe’s industrial competitiveness.

What to Expect:
Following a keynote on the current developments in European research policy, selected projects will be presented. In a panel discussion, representatives from research and industry will share their approaches, technologies, and solutions – from high-performance materials to smart manufacturing, circular economy, and artificial intelligence.

Key questions will include:

  • How can research & innovation contribute to the re-industrialization of Europe?

  • What framework conditions are needed for a resilient, sustainable manufacturing ecosystem?

  • What are the concrete expectations for Horizon Europe and its successor program FP10?

Networking Included:
To conclude, a networking session with snacks will offer the opportunity for personal exchange – with a view over the rooftops of Vienna.
