HEU Community | Deep Dive: "Future Thinking"

Charting a Human-Centered Path in the Fourth Industrial Revolution

The fourth industrial revolution, rooted in the digitalization revolution of the mid-20th century, will profoundly influence various aspects of our society, including social welfare, culture, health, production, materials, energy, and agriculture. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and the Internet of Things are ushering in substantial transformations in material development, food and goods production, healthcare, and energy. These changes will impact both the workforce and societal behaviors across multiple sectors.

To shape this future effectively, contemporary scientists must employ concrete strategies that prioritize human-centered development. In this Deep Dive, we aim to present forward-looking strategies that researchers and research institutions can adopt to promote human well-being.

Our featured speaker, Isabella Gady, is a design strategist and researcher driven by a vision of a more promising future for all. Her approach integrates insights from diverse research disciplines, organizational development, and strategic design to co-create innovative processes tailored to address the complex challenges of modern society. Isabella holds an MSc in Strategic Design from Parsons School of Design in New York and is a co-founder of the New York Digital Diplomacy Chapter. She has also served as Spokeswoman and Special Advisor for International Development at the Austrian Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration, and Foreign Affairs.

This webinar will be conducted in English.
