Projektbeschreibung

thinkport VIENNA ist im Jahr 2017 als urbanes Mobilitätslabor für Güterlogistik angetreten, um den Bedarf für einen Multiplikator und Übersetzer der Anforderungen von und an innovativer Logistik zu erfassen und eine entsprechende tragfähige Struktur und zugehörige Leistungen aufzubauen. Im Jahr 2021 ist thinkport VIENNA in Wien und darüber hinaus bekannt und anerkannt. Durch mehr als 400 Events konnten in den Räumlichkeiten des Labors im Hafen Wien über 2.500 Menschen vor Ort eingebunden und insgesamt über 9.000 Menschen mit den Inhalten des Labors erreicht werden. Das Team ist aktuell in wesentliche Logistikprojekte der Stadt Wien involviert und steht in direkter Abstimmung mit relevanten Abteilungen der Stadt Wien. Das Midterm-Review des Projekts durch die FFG brachte u.a. folgendes Feedback: "Thinkport hat eine Bedeutung nicht nur für Wien, sondern ist ein Vorreiterprojekt auch für andere Städte in Europa. Die Professionalität und das Engagement im Herangehen sowie die Kreativität sind gut sichtbar. Insofern ist eine Leuchtturmstellung bereits erkennbar. [...]". Das Labor ist bei allen Akteuren bekannt, die Komplementarität erkannt und sein Mehrwert anerkannt. Im Projekt thinkport VIENNA 2021+ geht es nun darum, das Leistungsangebot auszubauen, weitere Innovationsvorhaben zu erschließen, Netzwerk und Community zu verbreitern und eine nachhaltige Struktur für die Fortführung des Labors zu etablieren und es langfristig als wesentliche Einrichtung in und um Wien zu festigen. Hierzu wurden mit relevanten Einrichtungen und Abteilungen der Stadt Wien, wie Planungsdirektion, MA18 Stadtplanung und Stadtentwicklung, Wirtschaftsagentur etc. Gespräche geführt, um das Labor und sein Wirken in der Stadt zu verankern und Ziele und Aktivitäten abzustimmen. Vorgehensweise, Öffentlichkeitswirksamkeit und letztendlich auch die umgesetzten Innovationsvorhaben der letzten vier Jahre zeigen, dass das Labor und seine Akteure sich eine Daseinsberechtigung in ihrem Tätigkeitsfeld erarbeitet haben und mittlerweile auch aktiv nachgefragt werden. Zwei der nunmehr geplanten Innovationsvorhaben sind unmittelbar mit tatsächlichen Projekten der Stadt Wien verbunden. Events und Formate des Labors sind langfristig ausgerichtet, etabliert und über den Förderzeitraum hinaus geplant. Das Labor verfügt über ein internationales Netzwerk, funktionierende Leistungen und einen ausgezeichneten Bekanntheitsgrad in der Branche über Österreich hinaus. Dies alles unterstreicht die Ernsthaftigkeit mit der bei thinkport VIENNA vorgegangen wird, um güterlogistische Innovationen in Wien voranzutreiben, zu unterstützen und zu ermöglichen.

Abstract

thinkport VIENNA started in 2017 as an urban mobility living lab for transport and logistics in order to show the need for a multiplier and translator of the requirements of and for innovative logistics and to build up a corresponding sustainable structure and associated services. In 2021 thinkport VIENNA is well known and recognized in Vienna and beyond. Through more than 400 events in the lab in the port of Vienna, over 2,500 people were involved on site and a total of over 9,000 people were reached with its contents. The team is currently involved in major logistics projects in the City of Vienna and is in direct coordination with the relevant departments of the City of Vienna. The midterm review of the project by FFG gave us the following feedback: "Thinkport is not only important for Vienna, but is also a pioneering project for other cities in Europe. The professionalism and commitment in the approach as well as the creativity are clearly visible. In this respect a lighthouse position is already recognizable. [...] ". The lab is known to all actors, its complementarity recognized and its added value recognized. The thinkport VIENNA 2021+ project is now about expanding the range of services, developing further innovation projects, broadening the network and community and establishing a sustainable structure for the continuation of the laboratory and consolidating it as an essential facility in and around Vienna in the long term. For this purpose, discussions were held with relevant institutions and departments of the City of Vienna, such as the Planning Directorate, MA18 Urban Planning and Urban Development, Business Agency, etc. in order to anchor the laboratory and its work in the city and to coordinate goals and activities. The approach, publicity and ultimately the innovation projects implemented over the last four years show that the laboratory and its actors have developed a raison d'être in their field of activity and are now actively being asked for. Two of the innovation projects now planned are directly linked to actual projects of the City of Vienna. The laboratory's events and formats are long-term, established and planned beyond the funding period. The laboratory has an international network, well-functioning services and an excellent level of awareness in the industry beyond Austria. All of this underlines the seriousness with which thinkport VIENNA proceeds to promote, support and enable goods logistics innovations in Vienna.
